IG Completes Its Third Recycling Deal Within the Last Year

November 2022 - The Independence Group (IG) has advised its client in successful sale; buyer is a large corporate player in the U.S. scrap metal market.

The Metal Recycling Company has been in business for more than 50 years in the South-Central region of the U.S. It processes ferrous and non-ferrous metals such as copper, steel and aluminum, as well as other materials. The Company’s customers include manufacturers, renewable energy companies and scrap metal dealers. After the sale and a timely transition to new ownership, the seller will retire and key management team members will remain.

IG recently worked with the buyer - a prominent , strategic corporation - in its September 2022 acquisition of a Scrap Metal Processor. In this transaction, the buyer again demonstrated its efficiency throughout due diligence. “The seller and the buyer were not always in accord with the deal terms,” said Trevor Wood, IG’s M&A Advisor representing the Texas region. “However they were both extremely motivated, which helped bring the sale to completion in a relatively short time.”

In addition to Wood, principals assisting in the deal execution for IG were Larry Willis, President and Alejandra Cavazos, Vice President of Finance and Administration.

IG also closed a recycling deal in November 2021. With the sale of this, the third recycling company, the firm will continue building expertise in the space, and it welcomes inquiries from business owners with questions about exit strategies.

IG has offices in California, on the East Coast, in the Midwest and in Texas, representing clients from across the U.S. The firm works in tandem with its buy-side services division, Acquisition Partners (AP), to provide a full range of M&A services. For more information about AP visit www.acq.partners.
